Breathwork- the art and science of consciously breathing.

Center For Health & Healing

We will primarily be using a technique called “connected breathing”. That means an active inhale, and a passive exhale, with no pauses in between. Primarily, it serves to help the mind let it’s guard down. This helps us to quickly “get below the surface” and into a spacious, trancelike meditation.

About the event

Breathwork is the art and science of consciously breathing.

This workshop will be 2 hours long.

It is a safe container for participants to completely let go and surrender into their breath. Free breathing is a beautiful, vulnerable, and potent practice.

We will primarily be using a technique called “connected breathing”. That means an active inhale, and a passive exhale, with no pauses in between. Primarily, it serves to help the mind let it’s guard down. This helps us to quickly “get below the surface” and into a spacious, trancelike meditation.

Once in this state, possibilities are endless. It’s fine to just let your breath show you what it wants to show you, so you can see what comes up and how you tend to react to it.

The mind begins to process subconscious data. Allowing deep feelings ordinarily convered up by daily social life to come through. It is a journey of self-discovery, breath by breath. By breathing into, through, and around what we are experiencing, we can find freedom, no matter what we think or feel. This freedom is a kind of bliss - and we have access to it all the time.

By consciously focusing on feelings inside the breath, we can learn about what those feelings are. We can see into our “blind spots”, i.e. the parts of ourselves that we are unconscious of. This helps a person to develop more completely. Going deeper, one can even have an experience of feeling or knowing oneness with something, or even all of life.

The physical body is in a dynamic state of high circulation, while simulataneously being deeply relaxed. This allows cleansing and healing to happen in an accelerated way. Smokers lungs will expectorate. Cellular metabolism increases. Strange feelings are completely normal and healthy. This may include numbness, heat or cold, weight, hardness or softness in the body. Often, the first thing most people become aware of is where they store habitual unnecessary tension. Breathing into and through that is a great place to start.
