Joell
Joell credits Racquel Welch for starting her on her yoga journey at the age of 15, after finding a book the actress wrote on yoga at the Ocean County Library in the late 80s. She then begged her mom to find her a yoga video for Christmas, which produced a VHS by Alan Finger featuring naked men and women spray painted gold, performing Sun Salutations in the desert.
And so began her home practice, continuing until the age of 34, while living in the frozen north of Vermont, her close friend opened up a Bikram yoga studio and after much asking, finally persuaded Joell to feel the amazing heat of hot yoga. She immediately fell in love with practicing yoga in a class room setting, as well as the progress her own practice was making with the guidance of a teacher. Seeing herself in the mirror, sweating like crazy in unflattering clothes, trying to bring her foot over her head, brought such peace and a love for how fun, funny and challenging life can be.
Yoga has taught Joell gratitude, acceptance, love for herself and others, calm and strength through difficulties, body awareness and that the innermost self really has a great sense of humor. While at a crossroad in her life last summer, Joell made the decision to move her and her little black Pit Bull back to their hometown of Toms River, to persue the 200 hour teacher training program at the Center for Health and Healing and has never been happier.
She wishes to share her love for life and yoga with all who come to her class, hoping to make the challenges of the asanas fun and exhilarating as well as encouraging smiles, laughter and a light happy heart.

Pat P.
Pat discovered yoga 10 years ago. Yoga made her feel calmer, and more balanced. She needed to learn to de-stress and relax. Through her first contact with Yoga she realized that this was the path for her... It felt right, like coming home.
In addition to learning how to relax and pay attention to her body, she was pleasantly surprised to find her physical strength growing, her flexibility improving, and her mind expanding shifting. And, as her practice and love of Yoga deepened she decided to enroll in the 200 hour teacher training program. Originally, she took the program to expand her knowledge and practice. However, by the time she graduated she knew she wanted to teach yoga to others.
She is also a floral designer, and patient care technician. She continues to live her Yoga - thru her kindness to all that she encounters.

Patti A.
Patti has practiced yoga since 2000 and completed the 200 hour teacher training program through the Center for Health and Healing. She began her practice as an exercise program unaware that yoga would become such an integral part of her life. Beginning a yoga practice is the beginning of a life-changing journey, she now realizes. The practitioner connects to the body through the postures, opening the mind and the heart to one’s inner strength and intrinsic worth. This discovery works its way into all aspects of one’s life leading the student to self-awareness, self-trust, better health, and a much calmer state of mind.
Patti is interested in the philosophy of yoga as well, including breathing and meditation techniques especially the meditative quality one can experience in a yoga practice. She hopes to share this journey of yoga with her students through her teaching

Susan
Susan a parent of four grown children. It was one of her grown son's who encouraged her to finally do what she had wanted to do for years....take a yoga class. By the time she was in shivasana she knew where she belonged. She immediately started devoting time and energy in the development of her yoga practice.
It was a natural process to extend her practice into teaching yoga, since Susan has always worked in fields that have enabled her to help others. Her work history includes working as a paraprofessional in an alternative school for emotionally disturbed children and in a mental health clinic as an office manager/counselor in a dual-diagnosis program for adults. Both of these positions required having a non-judgmental character and good listening skills. She brings both of these traits to her yoga teaching and encourages her student's to be patient with their yoga practice and listen to their bodies.
She completed her teacher training program at the Center for Health and Healing. Her compassionate style encourages and honors the discovery of each persons uniqueness as she guides them into experiences of self awareness, acceptance, and ultimate healing.

Nicky
Nicky grew up around the philosophy of yoga as a child in Indonesia and continued her love for it. She experienced yoga as a healing and awakening practice. Returning that balance and flow of the body, mind, and breath, shines light on that joyful spirit inside all of us. Using the postures to reconnect to the body and the breath to enjoy the journey of rediscovering that relationship with patience and kindness, one is able to deepen that link as the body strengthens, awareness increases and tension of body and mind releases.
She feels that the mat is like a mini world in which the mind is very receptive to "train" for life off the mat. Yoga is a practice that feeds the mind, body and spirit. By opening our hearts to yoga's unlimited gifts and lessons, one can begin a personal journey of healing oneself. The practice calms our energies from the hurried hectic lives that we may be leading. We start to become powerfully present and truly alive in the moment and over time notice that what we practice on the matt has snuck its way into our lives off it. :)
Nicky trained and received her 200 hour RYT from Center of Health and Healing and Certified Massage Therapist.
